Enrichment Beat found some Thanksgiving camps that offer a wonderful enrichment opportunity for our children! The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has a camp that lets children explore the secrets of the museum. How fun is that? The San Diego Children’s Museum lets the children learn about nature at night. While grownups are preparing for Thanksgiving, children get to experience art, nature and fun!


Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden – Autumn Nature Camp

From the website: Our popular Nature Camp is being offered the week of Thanksgiving! Children are invited to join us for inspiring autumn-themed projects and garden adventures as we experience the science, art, and culinary joys of the season while exploring the beauty, shifting light, and natural wonders of fall at The Arboretum.

San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum – Little Explorers Fall Camp 2022

From the Website: This fall we are inviting budding naturalists for a 3-day adventure as we learn about nocturnal animals and what nature does at night. Through daily science and art activities, campers will explore adaptations and behaviors of nocturnal animals, how light affects plants, and how some animals survive in the dark.

Natural History Museum – Adventures in Nature: Secrets of the Museum

From the Website: How did NHM’s collection of 35 million specimens and artifacts, including dinosaur fossils, insects, crystals (and more!) make their way to the museum, and what happens once they are here? In this two day camp, we’ll reveal the secrets of museum work. On Day 1, we’ll go behind the scenes to understand the work that happens in museum labs. On Day 2, we’ll get hands-on to explore how NHM scientists go out into the field to make amazing discoveries!
