We like to choose STEM activities now and then and this one will not disappoint. For all the educators out there, this is a great challenge regardless if you use it for Halloween or just a STEM project. Here’s a blurb from StemChallenge.com:
The Bone Bridge STEM Challenge is a perfect fit for your Halloween activities because it’s fun with substance! In this challenge, students build a bridge for length, strength, and/or capacity using cotton swab “bones”.

Kirigami Spider Webs from Babble Dabble Do
For a simple but make a statement craft project, we chose these Kirigami Spider Webs. Most families or educators will have the supplies on hand which is always a bonus.

Kirigami is a paper art, similar to origami, that involves cutting a folded piece of paper to create a design. If you’ve ever made a paper snowflake then you’ve done kirigami!

This activity with NASA is just the tip of the iceberg for all the Halloween fun they have to offer. We encourage you and your child to browse Space Place, they really do offer so much enrichment. In case you didn’t know what Space Place is, here is a direct quote from their site:

Here is yet another great STEAM resource to explore! This time launch into Halloween with Pumpkin Catapults. Kaplan Early Leaning is great for not only it’s activities, but free downloads and step by step instructions. They also include ways educators can incorporate the activities into Lesson Plans.

HALLOWEEN ORIGAMI – Origami Bat
How to make an easy Halloween Origami Bat
We chose Red Ted Art for their easy Halloween Origami Bat because it truly is one of the easier origami bats out there and as a bonus it doubles as a bookmark and who doesn’t love a multi-purpose craft. When getting creative with this craft, we used googly eyes instead of construction paper. Even when doing the simplest crafts, creativity is boundless.
